Many synagogues approach me to repair their Sifrey Torah and I am quite often saddened by the damage that I see. To that end, I have produced a fourth edition of a small booklet -
Care of Your Torah which you can buy or download from here. It is gleaned from my experience, from sage advice on other websites I have come across and from the Halachic texts and some very helpful suggestions and feedback to the first draft from the soferet Avielah Barclay.
